At times, we are doing one thing and, in the background, we are thinking about another thing or things, which we are required to do.
Does it happen with you? What does that mean? Does it mean that we are not focussed? Or does it mean that we have a lot on our plate? Wait, wait…..it simply means that we are not ready to settle down for whatever we can do easily, rather we have said to ourself to stretch our boundaries and become limitless.
Let me ask you from another perspective
Do you sometimes get overwhelmed with your performance or the situations around you and feel they are not as you wish them to be?
Do you think that things are not in your control, and you feel frustrated, stressed?
Do you think that things are getting out of control, or you do not know how to handle them?
When we are not able to handle situations, we try to distract ourselves just by doing other things as if these situations don’t exist. Does it really help?
For short term yes, and for how long you think you can go on like this in your life. Distracting yourself can give you a breather to come back and rethink as it is not the solution at all.
There can be multiple reasons for such situations, and we don’t know how to handle it and or come out of it. You can always seek help and support and finding just the right person becomes challenging.
Life is never the way we want it to be. We can’t control the happenings in our life. The point remains, how to handle all this stress. First step, we can choose how to respond instead of how to react. Responding gives us some time to distract, look back and rethink and it lifts the immediate pressure from our shoulders and emotions.
Expectations and limitations shall always prevail in the social system of which we are an inseparable part, but how much influence we can handle depends entirely on us and not on someone else who barely knows about our situations and environment. Stress can come from anywhere and everywhere, the beauty of life is that it always provides support in different forms for us to confront it, understand it and manage it.
